Squeezing In Fitness: My Real-Life Workout Tips for Busy Women
All Blog

Hi lovely!

I wanted to jump on here and share something that might be relatable to you. My world can be a circus at times, juggling a million things at once - work, family, social life (and trying to remember the last time I had a moment to myself) - finding time to workout can feel like solving a Rubik's Cube on the days I haven't committed to the gym. But, guess what? I've found some ways to make it work, and I'm excited to share them with you!

1. Embrace the Quick Workouts

Who said workouts need to be an hour long? On super busy days, I go for quick 15-20 minute high-intensity sessions. They're like espresso shots of exercise – short, intense, and they give you a boost! There are tons of apps and online videos that offer these quick workouts. Trust me, even a short session can make a difference.

2. Make Your Commute Active

Now, I work from home so this one doesn't really apply to me, however, this tip might be useful for you! If and when possible, walk or cycle to work. If you’re commuting by public transport, consider getting off a stop early and walking the rest of the way. Every step counts, and it’s a great way to clear your head before and after a long day.

3. A Wise Lunch Break

Okay, this might sound crazy, but sometimes I sneak in a quick workout during my lunch break. It could be a brisk walk around the block or a quick yoga session in my living room. It's amazing how it can recharge your batteries for the second half of the day. And with a toddler, what a great way to get exercise for you and the little human before a nap!

4. Workout While You Wait

Waiting for your pasta to boil or your kid’s soccer practice to end? Use that time to get in some squats, lunges, or stretching. These little moments can add up to a lot of extra movement by the end of the day. I love doing calf raises while I do the dishes. What once was a chore just staring at a wall is now a chore and a workout! Who knew!

5. Involve Your Friends or Family

Combine catching up with friends or spending time with family with a bit of exercise. Instead of the usual coffee catch-ups, go for a walk, a hike, or try a new fitness class together. It’s socializing and exercising in one! Again, toddlers have a lot of energy they need to expel, so for mamas, go walk, jog, anything to help you get more movement in and the energy out!

Remember, the best workout is the one that actually happens. It doesn't have to be perfect or long. It's about finding those little opportunities throughout your day to move your body. We've got this, ladies! Let’s keep each other motivated and make fitness a fun part of our crazy, beautiful lives.

Got any sneaky workout tips of your own? I’d love to hear them! Share your stories and let’s inspire each other to stay active in our wonderfully hectic lives.
